We make losing weight really easy! It's not like at home where there's a kitchen, temptation and sweets in the house calling your name - how can you resist? We have fantastic food and snacks that kids love. Recipes are added to our menu only after being tested and enthusiastically voted upon by thousands of kids who attended Camp Shane.

More than anything else, Camp Shane cares about you. This camp was created to help you. We are a community of close friends (including you) that help and encourage one another. We support each other and work together to achieve our goals. NO ONE IS LEFT OUT. We all work together and succeed in creating the caring community which is the heart and soul of Camp Shane.

It's hard to imagine what going to weight loss camp will be like. Maybe it doesn't sound too great. But guess what: Camp Shane is happy, cheerful, exciting and loads of fun! The people are really friendly. As soon as you get here other campers and staff come up to you, asking your name, what you like and before you know it, you are part of the crowd. You wonder why you didn't think of coming to Camp Shane way before now.

Counselors love working at Camp Shane. They come here because they really want to help kids like you. Maybe they are trying to lose weight themselves. Or maybe, they used to be overweight and now want to help you succeed. Our staff is friendly, caring, enthusiastic, and they want to be your friend. I guarantee, you will love and get very close to the counselors. When you get home, you will be in contact all the time.

Together with cool free T.E.A.M. tee-shirts, super T.E.A.M bunk awards and individual awards, we create a camp where all of us feel truly comfortable.

Our computer center is available for you to send emails and your friends and family can send you email, which will be printed off and delivered to you at daily mail delivery. Campers get to call their parents once a week. Our staff photographer will also be out there everyday taking pictures of camp in operation for friends and family to view.

All of us work together to create the special warm, inclusive, friendly and upbeat camp that we are.

Hats Off
Everyday, campers and staff give "hats off" (complements) to other campers and staff. You might thank someone for lending you something, or helping you out or talking to you when you need to talk.

Award Nights
Every week, our campers get award certificates to take home. Every single camper will get one. Did you get better at something, show care and concern for another camper, have an idea for a new program at camp? We will recognize some good in everyone.

Bunk Meetings
Where campers discuss issues like getting along well together, setting guidelines, working together and including everyone in activities.

One-on-one with Guidance Staff
Where campers can talk about anything of concern, get advice or simply get close.

Rap sessions
This is where campers discuss what is going on at home, school and camp. Our campers love to express and share their feelings and concerns. Guidance staff runs these sessions and we learn ways to handle issues that we are faced with.
