We are a coed weight-loss camp, located in the Prescott National Forest of Arizona, only 1 1/2 hours north of Phoenix. We are looking to hire great staff to come join our crew. If you are a graduate, undergraduate college student, coach, teacher or someone who welcomes a challenge and has a passion for working with kids we may have a summer job for you. Camp Shane is run like any fine traditional camp. However, we also provide a successful weight loss program by serving our campers well-balanced, portion-controlled meals. We offer weekly nutrition classes and "rap" sessions that help campers build self-esteem. We have extensive and beautiful facilities. We're upbeat, happy and use positive reinforcement. We offer all sports activities, but put emphasis on participation, instruction and having FUN, as opposed to competition. Of course what would camp be without special events such as campfires, drama, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, dances, group games, carnival, etc. There are also optional off camp sightseeing trips and inter-camp games.

We consider our staff the backbone of a successful summer. As a staff member, you will at times be an authoritative figure, other times a teacher, coach, brother or sister, and at all times a best friend. We work hard to develop close working and personal relationships and hold regular staff meetings. The owners and head staff are always available. We thrive on feedback, suggestions and involvement to improve camp and create a great summer for all campers and staff alike.

Camp counseling is not a job for everyone, but despite the challenges you will face being a counselor is an extremely rewarding experience. It requires dedication, and long hours. Prepare to not have much privacy, as you will be living in a cabin with campers. You must be responsible at all times. You will have a strong impact on children and develop friendships with people from all over the world. SALARIES:
Please note that as part of your salary camp provides room, board and a laundry service. Salaries are total compensation for the summer.
