We're so busy having a great time at camp; it's easy to lose weight. We don't realize we're making changes in our lifestyles that will help us take and keep the weight off forever!
Nutrition and cooking classes and rap sessions help teach you about eating in the real world which is an uncontrolled environment that sometimes gets out of control. We'll give you the tools for losing.

We Serve Foods You Like
You won't believe the foods you can eat. Fun foods - like pizza, pasta, chicken nuggets (baked of course) and hamburgers. NO DIET FOOD HERE - but foods you'll want to eat when you return home. You won't believe how good the food is. |

We provide portion-controlled meals that are healthy and tasty. We also serve two snacks every day like 100 calorie cookie packs, frozen yogurt pops, fudgicles, caramel rice cakes. And for vegetarians, we have a complete, terrific menu just for you. |

Kid Tested
We have a terrific menu - the result of over 40 years of kid-testing! You will be pleasantly surprised to learn that you can eat most of the food you like. It's really about making some better food choices and serving sizes. Combine our menu with fun filled active days and your excess weight will disappear. Most importantly, is that this is all something you can do at home. |

Campers Actually Love These Sessions
We'll teach you how to get in control and stay in control in our nutrition and cooking classes. The facts might surprise you. Our nutrition workbook helps you throughout your time at camp and when you get home.
We cover all the basics and more about nutrition in our twice weekly classes. Our nutrition staff covers topics that you'll find interesting and helpful. We have lots of handouts, discussions, Q&A sessions, food models, articles and real life stories to share with you.
We also talk about what it's like to be overweight in our home towns, our schools and at home. We discuss some of the hurtful behaviors from other kids and role play how to handle these situations. It's a very, very helpful tool for you when you return home.

A Fun Way to Learn About Food
Instead of eating in our dining room, we meet in our Cooking Center. Here, along with the Nutrition staff, you will prepare a delicious, healthy meal and snack. It's a great way to learn more about how to eat correctly when you return home. It's hands-on, practical, fun and tasty!
Cooking classes will teach you the basics. You will actually prepare the meal yourself from start to finish and you will get to make a breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will also get tons of recipes and will come out of the class with the realization that preparing healthy meals is easy, fun and delicious.
For example, in class we have made apple cinnamon muffins, chicken and vegetable salads, rigatoni with mushrooms, mozzarella with tomato meat sauce and s'mores for dessert. |
